Class for Zoom is an app that your instructor might be using to recreate a normal class session in Zoom to become a more inclusive, interactive, and engaging digital environment. Follow these instructions to download, install, and sign into the app. There are a lot of steps, but fortunately you will only have to do this once.

Download and install the app


Follow these steps to download and install the app.

  1. Navigate to https://slcc.class.com/ to download the latest version of Class
  2. Install class using the installation wizard (Note: Do not edit the username or organization fields)

Sign into the app


This initial sign in process can be confusing, and some of it does not feel intuitive. But if you follow these instructions precisely then you will be able to sign in.

  1. Launch Class
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Click “Allow this app to use my shared access permissions,” then click the “Allow” button (Note: This happens only once and allows Class to create Zoom meetings on your behalf)
  4. Click SSO at the bottom of the screen, underneath the key icon
  5. Type “slcc-edu” in the Company Domain field
  6. Sign into the SSO if prompted, which will probably involve a DUO push
At this point, the app is set up and you can join your Class for Zoom sessions in Canvas
