Over the years we have seen problems with instructors' ability to access both Zoom and Class for Zoom due to emails changing periodically in Canvas. This is an ongoing issue, and you may periodically experience an issue with Zoom not launching (for example: Error Message â€śWarning The instructor's email (username@slcc.edu) is invalid (Error Code 2216).

The solution is to make sure that your email in Canvas matches your email in Zoom.

This process requires two steps:

1. Check your Zoom email address
2. Change your email address in your Canvas settings

Check your Zoom email address

You can find the email address associated with your Zoom license by opening up the Zoom app, navigating to the top right corner of the app, and clicking your profile picture.

Note: If you do not have the word "LICENSED" next to your name, then you may be using a personal account. If you need to switch to your SLCC Zoom account, call the Help Desk at x5555, or email them at help.desk@slcc.edu.

Change your email address in your Canvas settings

  1. Navigate to Canvas, click on your Account in the top left corner, and click settings.
  2. In the top right corner of this screen, find "Ways to Contact."
  3. If your Zoom email address is not listed, then click + Email Address, and add it.
  4. Set your default email to the same email you found in Zoom by clicking the star next to the correct email.

This will fix most problems. If you still have connectivity issues, email elearningsupport@slcc.edu for more help.
