Testing Services welcomes all faculty to fall semester! Many faculty may be accustomed to the beginning of semester emails from Testing Services. Those who are new and are receiving such email for the first time, welcome - we are glad you’re here!

Exam Administration & Locations

We are offering exam administration at three (3) of our testing centers. Jordan (HSB 054), Redwood-Taylorsville (LIB 022), and South City Campus (2-187). Each site administers computer-based, and paper-pencil based exams. We are adding a new location at the Herriman campus (JNPR 223) which is in progress and will be open for operation soon. More updates to come!

  • If you are faculty teaching online or livestream courses your exams will be offered at all locations.
  • If you are faculty teaching in-person courses and have computer-based exams your exams will be offered at all locations.
  • If you are faculty teaching in-person courses and have paper-pencil based exams your exams will be offered only at the campus course(s) are taught.
* All online or livestream course paper-pencil based exam pickup will only be offered at the Taylorsville-Redwood campus. If you would like to pick-up at another location, please make arrangements with your department.

Student Appointments

Please note students in a course who will be testing at Testing Services will need to schedule an exam appointment. Appointments for students with approved accommodations have changed, there is no longer a separate way for students with accommodations to sign up if they are taking their exam at Testing Services with their class. Please provide students with these scheduling instructions.

Not using Testing Services for your entire class, but have a few students with accommodations?

For students with approved accommodations in your course testing with us and not in class, will require an accommodated exam submission. Please submit an exam request similar to submitting a make-up exam request by logging into MySLCC. Instead of selecting "Make Up Exam Request" under Testing Services, select "Accommodated Testing" then proceed with the submission. Please visit Testing Service's Faculty Resources page for the make up instructions, which are similar to submitting an accommodated exam.

IMPORTANT: Please only enter the class time limit for the student(s). Do not include double time. The system will automatically adjust the time limit according to accommodations. Ensure to upload your exam/exam files. Not doing so will delay processing and students will not be able to schedule or find their exam. Faculty will receive notification once exams are available for scheduling. It is the responsibility of faculty to relate scheduling information to their students.

Our web page will soon be updated to provide instructions for Accommodated Exam submissions.

Exam Submission Deadline

While we welcome all faculty and exams please keep in mind that the testing center should be used for major summative assessments rather than formative assessments or quizzes. If you are interested in an alternative solution for proctoring formative assessments outside of the classroom Respondus monitoring provides a secure remote proctoring option.

All exams require an exam submission per course and instructor. Each instructor is responsible for submitting their own submissions.  We will process submissions in the order it is received. All three locations will offer the maximum volume available, however, faculty may be asked to make other arrangements during a high-volume testing window. Please plan accordingly as Testing Services is unable to process same day submissions and will need 3 business days to prepare an exam.

Please keep this Quick Reference Guide handy!

Mark Your Calendar!

To better serve you and your students Testing Services now has a deadline to submit exams for each semester, including Accommodated exams. Due to the high volume of exams running during finals Testing Services will not be able to process exams. December 6, 2023, end of business day (8:00 pm) marks the last day faculty can submit exam requests/submissions for Fall 2023. We cannot guarantee exams will be processed once the deadline has passed. During finals week only currently running final exams will be administered and makeup exams will not be offered. This includes final exams that students miss or cannot take in class. Makeup exams will resume the day after finals. Exam submissions will resume one week prior to classes starting. Please mark your calendar to ensure you submit your requests on time.

Final exam administration will begin December 11th and run through December 14th. Exam reconciliation will begin after an exam has ended. We request your patience while exams are being reconciled and request that faculty wait to pick up exams until reconciliation has been completed. All faculty testing with Testing Services will receive email notifications to their slcc.edu email. Please note, Testing Services will not send any notifications or emails to any personal emails regarding exam information/notifications.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you this semester!
